Greene Community Vacation Bible School
Dear Greene community families,
As you well know, these past few months have been unlike anyone could have expected. Routines have been interrupted, things we take for granted have been kept from us, and so many plans have been changed. As we move into summer, things are starting to look up. However, there is still so much uncertainty surrounding this pandemic situation
For that reason, the planning team for the annual Greene Community Vacation Bible School will be making some adjustments to the way our program is run this summer. Instead of gathering for VBS together in our church buildings, we’ll provide a combination of online videos as well as take-home packets with supplies and directions for children to complete craft projects and other fun activities in your own home and yard. We’re excited for a fun week learning about faith in “God’s Big Backyard” and we hope you are too!
We know that VBS is a highlight of the summer for many, and while we will certainly miss being able to gather with everyone in person for VBS, the health and safety of the children and families of our community is a top priority. Therefore, we are excited to offer this alternative experience and we ask for your prayers as we continue to discern and navigate what a “virtual VBS” looks like. If you have any questions, please contact Christin Flucke or Janice Shultz.
We pray that you and your family are staying healthy and safe, and we hope you’ll join us for this fun week of growing in faith this summer!
In Christ,
2020 VBS Planning Team
Christin Flucke, Janice Shultz, Heather Shook, Tanya Yerkes, Jennifer Eggena, and Sydney Eiklenborg
Nearly 200 photos from our 2019 VBS week are posted online here for you to check out.

- VBS will be July 13-17th for all kids age 3 – completed 5th grade.
- Registration deadline has passed, so please contact church immediately if you have not yet registered and still plan to participate. Here is the form to print and mail in as a PDF or Word docx file.
- We are once again asking for a $5 per child registration fee. This money will be used to help us purchase all of the supplies for the take-home packets. However, if money is at all a challenge for your family this year, please contact a member of the planning team as we do have scholarships available. Please mail the fee (checks can be made out to “VBS”) along with your registration form.
- Shortly after June 15th, you will receive a follow up letter with more information. This letter will include the details of where and when to pick up your take-home packet and how to access the online components.
