Psalm 24:1 tells us, "The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it." As Christians, we believe everything we have is a gift given to us in trust by God. We are stewards of the resources God has trusted to us. The gifts God has given us are intended to be used to glorify God and to do God's work. In 1 Peter 4:10, we read, "Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received."
By giving of our time, talents, and treasures, we honor God and fulfill God's command to be good stewards. As the church-the Body of Christ-we pool our resources together to make a difference in the world in Jesus' name. The ministry our congregation does is funded by giving from our members and friends of our congregation.
Prayerfully consider how God has blessed you and how God might be calling you to share your abundance through the church.

You'll notice four categories for your giving. "Benevolence & Mission/Synod" helps us support the work of the wider church by giving to the Northeastern Iowa Synod of the ELCA. The "General Operating" fund supports the work we do here at the church, including everything from staff salaries to confirmation supplies to just keeping the lights on and the water flowing. The "Building Restoration" fund is the rainy day fund for future building maintenance projects. Finally, "Missionary Support" is passed on to fund the work of Mary Beth and Bayo Oyebade in Nigeria, and a Young Adult in Global Mission in Hungary.
St. Peter Lutheran Church's antique stained glass windows need new storm windows and repair to any sagging, loose, or missing stained glass. A push to raise the large amount needed to update the windows so that they last another 100 years is in detail in this pdf.
Thank you for your support of our ministry together as church! If you have any questions about online giving, please contact our treasurer, Gale Brinkman, through the church office.
